ALMOST every bride wants to feel like a princess on her wedding day, and now, thanks to Walt Disney and designer Alfred Angelo, they can.

A new range of dresses designed for brides who want to resemble one of seven of Walt Disney's most famous princesses, were on display at the 25th Mackay's Premier Annual Bridal Fair yesterday.

Jill Burston for Brides manageress Jocelyn Fairbairn said models' hair and make-up enhanced their resemblance to each princess as they walked up the catwalk at the fair, held at the Mackay Entertainment and Convention Centre.

"They're going to be very popular – we've already sold some through the shop and they haven't even hit the floor yet," Ms Fairbairn said.

"This is a very new launching from overseas in America and our store ... has been so, so fortunate to carry that label."

Organiser Lucy Dillon, of Lucy Dillon for Brides, said the 25th annual bridal fair had been the biggest yet, with more than 3000 people, including at least 323 brides, in attendance.

"I've spoken to quite a few exhibitors and they're all happy with the numbers here and with the interest in their different stores," Ms Dillon said.

The fair had everything a bride-to-be needed, including wedding invitations, beauty services, bridal fashions, cake decorators, celebrants, dance teachers, decorators, florists and a butterfly release company. Sherree Wildman, who was manning the Big Sisters Nanny Service exhibit, said the expo was well worth attending.

"We do receptions ... we can look after children in a motel room," she said.

Brides can now look forward to the Mackay Bridal Showcase on Sunday, July 3.
