| Discounted wedding dresses for sale Posted: 03 Jun 2010 12:58 PM PDT TAMPA - Before saying "I do," hundreds of brides-to-be will head to Goodwill this Friday and Saturday, shopping for their dream wedding dress at a deeply discounted price. The big sale is Goodwill's 4th annual Wedding Gown Gala. Each year, new, designer dresses are donated to Goodwill and sold at a fraction of the price. Many girls dream about their wedding day, and a big part of that day is the white dress. "A wedding gown is more than just a garment," says Michael Ann Harvey, vice president of marketing at Goodwill in Tampa. "As you know, it is something that is so special. It's a special symbol of hopes and dreams, love and the future." The dresses range in size, color and style. They are priced from $90 to $300. "It has a retail tag of $1,240 and we are selling it for $300," Michael Ann said while looking at one dress. "Any bride that has been shopping for a dress is going to recognize the labels. We have Demetrios, Alfred Angelo, Casablanca Bridal." The ladies will have plenty to chose from -- there 350 dresses between two stores. "There has been a lot of buzz about it in the community. We've had people have calling the office saying 'when is your sale, when is your sale?' And that was back in January," Michael Ann said. Accessories are also available, from shoes to wedding day decorations. But be sure to come prepared -- shopping for that perfect gown can be exhausting. "Girls should get some rest, perhaps bring a power bar with them," Michael Ann advised.
